SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PROJECT:
This sustainable agriculture project is a joint program that was jointly implemented in the last reporting year in Kunnam Taluk of Perambalur District. This organic farming program is being implemented in six villages of the district such as Kunnam, Anthur, Varagur, Othiyam, Moongil Padi and Kallaam Pudhur for the benefit of 120 small and marginal farmers. In this year we succeed the followings;
a. Soil and Water Management:
Compost making, Enriched Farm Yard Manure, Green Manure, and Compost pit also they made in their lands. There are 25 farmers used tank silt in their lands to enrich the fertility of the land.

b. Crop Protection:
The selection of quality seeds, Seed treatment, inter crop and the 120 farmers of these above said villages followed crop cycling.
c. Agriculture and its allied activities:
There are 60 farmers were grown Asola feeder crop in their lands, 20 farmers were started the mushroom production units and 73 farmers are rearing goat in their lands. A field day celebration was celebrated at in six villages.
d. Farmers Field School:
The Farmers Field Schools was conducted in all our working six villages. There are nine FFS were conducted in each village. Totally we have conducted 54 FFS in our target villages.
e. NABARD- VVV Club Program:
We have registered our six groups in NABARD as VVV clubs. The NABARD has helped them with the worth of Rs. 3000/group for group management and maintenance.
f. Linkages:
Through this program we are having links with NANARD Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Horticulture Department, Perambalur, Veterinary Research Centre, Aaduthurai Paddy Research Station, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Sugarcane and Paddy research centre, Sirugamani and Joint Director of Agriculture, Perambalur.
