INDIAN DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION TRUST

ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM:

In this reporting year we have formed 40 eco clubs in Perambalur district and also appointed the school coordinators for all schools. All these coordinators are teachers and they will take care of their own school eco club activities.

a. Eco Club Activities:

We have conducted eco clubs coordinators meetings at Indo Trust office on 27 th of September and 16 th of October’06. In this meeting we were clearly explained about the eco clubs, its activities, role of teacher coordinators in the development of eco clubs. There are 40 schoolteacher coordinators were participated in the meeting.

 

b. Educational, Revenue district and State level program:

On 8.11.2006 the Indo Trust has been organized a competition for the school students which were focused on environment protection and promotion. Mr. Nallaperumal who is the headmaster of Government higher secondary school, Perambalur was presided over the function. We were attended the state level meeting in Chennai on 06-07-2005 and 07-10-2005 and also on behalf of Indo Trust we have shared our experiences in this meeting.

 

c. Certificate and Posters Distribution:

Student Environment Certificate were Distributed to 40 Schools from CPR Foundation and Environment centre, Chennai. Three kinds of Posters distributed for schools. All these posters were given by Tamilnadu Environmental Department. We have distributed the posters through Post and also I person. Totally 150 Trees were planted in 40 schools through our Tree Plantation programme in this reporting year.

 

d. NGC Clubs:

The National Green Corps were formed in the schools of Perambalur educational district. Through this clubs we are giving awareness to the students on problems of plastics, celebrating the national environmental day, school campus cleaning, rainwater harvesting, tree plantation and bio-intensive kitchen gardens etc.,

 

f. Samathuva Pongal:

We have celebrated the “Samathuva Pongal” at Vaalikandapuram village of Perambalur district. The people from all castes and religion were participated in the Pongal celebration. The local Jamad president, Church Sisters and public were participated in the celebration.
